Challenge : Diamond has been the leading match manufacturer for over a hundred years, but its packaging was starting to show its age. In this redesign, I was seeking to bring new life and energy into the packaging while also retaining a sense of timelessness.

Solution : A new mark.

For the foundation of the mark, I drew upon the diamond silhouette that has been used by the brand for decades, and accentuated the “facets” often seen in previous variations with a minimal “match strike spark” graphic in the center.

My goal was to create a bold and easily identifiable mark that exudes longevity and strength. I wanted to transform the packaging from the match that everyone has, to the match that everyone wants.
